The Hilton Garden Inn New York Times Square South has opened its doors this month.

The Midtown Manhattan property is 10 miles away from La Guardia Airport, and just 0.2 miles from Times Square, the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, and High Line Park for an easy jaunt on foot.

The hotel has a 24-hour fitness center and there’s a media room on the second floor, which has flat screen TV’s for catching flicks, and game stations.

The restaurant onsite is called Doyler’s, which is the Irish pub-style all day dining restaurant in the lobby with indoor and outdoor seating. The hotel offers room service from 5-10pm, and there’s also a Garden Market, which has 24-hour grab-n-go snacks and drinks. Free coffee is offered in the mornings.

The property located at 326 West 37th Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues has 250 guest rooms, spread over 23 stories.

There are no photos of the guest rooms yet, but there is a rendering of one on Hilton’s website –

Room types offered are:

1 King Bed
1 King Bed Large Window City View
1 King Bed Skyview
1 King Bed with Balcony
2 Double Beds
2 Double Beds Large Window City View

The Skyview room type is arguably their prime offering, located on the top 23rd floor and featuring 22-foot ceilings and sweeping skyline views. There are just two City View rooms, which are on the 17th floor. They offer panoramic views.

Interestingly, there are two Balcony rooms on the 18th floor, which have outdoor access. There isn’t any further description about the balconies, so I’m not sure if they are enclosed or have a railing you can lean over.

Guest rooms all include free WiFi, and desks with ergonomic chairs by Herman Miller. Rooms have mini-refrigerators, Keurig® coffeemakers, and microwaves.

Doing a few random date searches, the Advance Purchase Hilton Honors member rate came up at $126, and the best available rate was $154. You can redeem 34,000 Hilton Honors points for a free night.

Hotel rooms in New York City tend to be expensive, and although Hilton already has several hotels in the Times Square area it is always great to see new hotel options with reasonable rates.
