Can you guess the world’s most popular country to visit?

If you picked France, you’d be correct. Year after year, the numbers show that France is the most popular country to visit in the world (The US is second). And, when in France, Paris and the Eiffel Tower are a top draw.

Seen as a romantic attraction, some people take a stroll by the Eiffel Tower, enjoy a picnic nearby, go up inside, or simply sit and gaze at the tall tower.

The Eiffel Tower is a landmark by day, and at night it even lights up. Traveler tip: Each night at the top of each hour, the tower twinkles with golden lights for five minutes and the bright beam shines.

Hilton Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with property owner Compagnie de Phalsbourg, and announced that they will be opening a second hotel in Paris (the first is the Hilton Paris Opera hotel) with direct views of the popular Eiffel Tower attraction. Dubbed the Hilton Paris Eiffel Tower, the 118 guest room property will be situated in the 7th arrondissement.

The current commercial space at 55 Avenue de Saxe, next to Place de Breteuil will be getting a fancy overhaul, with construction set to start soon. The work includes the joining of two buildings (one from the 1900’s and one from the 1970’s).

The popular and prestigious 7th arrondissement is on the left bank of the Seine river, which is close not only to the Eiffel Tower but also the Hôtel des Invalides (Napoléon’s resting place), and the Musée d’Orsay.

The new Hilton Paris Eiffel Tower hotel will have an executive lounge, as well as a fitness center.

Famous designer Philippe Starck is slated to bring a chic interior and French elegance to the hotel, while architect Atelier Cos will be in charge of architecture (and the highly coveted guest room Eiffel Tower views).

The Hilton Paris Eiffel Tower hotel expects to open in 2019.

  1. Ooh views of the Eiffel Tower, sounds dreamy. I have Hilton points. Maybe someday I can get my family to Paris.

    1. I hope you get to experience Paris, Elaine!

Converting Hilton points to miles doesn’t offer the best value, but you could definitely redeem for a stay at the new Hilton in Paris once it is completed. Do you have any airline miles or hotel points saved up in other programs?

I don’t know how many people you have in your family but a trip to Europe is definitely do-able, especially if you already have some miles/points. Let me know what info I can provide that might help!
