Scandic Hotels is the largest hotel company in the Nordic region with over 220 properties, and they sometimes have interesting promotions to entice guests to book, such as their offer in 2015 where you could stay 13 nights for a fixed price.

Scandic Hotels has signed an agreement with LAK Real Estate Oyj to establish and operate a new property at Helsinki Airport. Work starts this month and the opening is slated to be in the first six months of 2018.

The new Scandic Helsinki Airport hotel will be located across from the airport about 300 feet from Terminal 2, which will be the closest freestanding hotel at the Helsinki Airport. There’s some stiff competition though as the convenient Hilton Helsinki Airport hotel is connected to the airport by way of a covered walkway, and I even got my own sauna during my stay there!

The building for the Scandic Helsinki Airport hotel already exists as an office building and several floors will be renovated to turn the property into a 148 guest room hotel complete with restaurant, bar, gym and sauna and five conference rooms.

I look forward to trying out this new Scandic hotel in Finland when it opens.
