Starwood has a great partnership with Uber where SPG members can earn Starpoints for every dollar they spend with Uber. If you use Uber, are a SPG member and haven’t linked your accounts yet to start earning, you can link them here at spg.com/uber and start earning as soon as you complete your first stay of the year.

Here’s the current earning structure –

• Basic Preferred Guest members receive 2 Starpoints per dollar spent with Uber
• Gold members receive 3 Starpoints per dollar spent with Uber
• Platinum 75 night members receive 4 Starpoints per dollar spent with Uber

During the month of February, all SPG members with linked Uber accounts will receive 5 Starpoints per dollar spent with Uber, regardless of if the ride is during a Starwood stay or not. This is a special limited-time promotion, and registration is not required as long as your accounts are already linked.

After the promotion period ends on February 28, 2017, all SPG members with linked Uber accounts will drop down to receive just 1 Starpoint for every $2 spent with Uber for everyday rides, and 2 Starpoints per $1 spent with Uber for rides while staying at a Starwood property. This is regardless of status, so you will earn less than you currently are now.

I am glad that the partnership still exists but of course disappointed that I’ll be earning less than before. I’ll still use Uber and be glad for this ability to earn some bonus Starpoints.
