Today is Day 1 of Magic of Miles 12 Days of Giveaways!

I hope you are enjoying the holidays so far. Perhaps stealing away for an hour to read a book or do some window-shopping, enjoying late evenings with loved ones around a crackling fireplace and hot cocoa, or packing to leave for a vacation trip somewhere warm and tropical.

For most people though (myself included), travel stress tends to creep in and threaten to steamroll all that happy holiday glow. I wrote earlier today about 3 of my favorite tips to combat that stress, and would love to hear some of yours.

To enter today’s contest for a box full of goodies from Magic of Miles, leave a comment on this post with one of your favorite ways to combat stress during the holidays. I’d love to hear how readers keep their zen at this time of the year.

A winner will be randomly drawn via random.org. There is a contest each day for the next 11 days on Magic of Miles, and you can enter once per day. There is no one-per-household limit so be sure to share with friends & family too. Each daily contest ends at 9pm PST, and you can find more contest details here.

Good luck and thanks for reading!

  1. as a working mom of 4 who picks up extra shifts around the holidays I have my kids step up and help out with chores and errands to take some work off my to do list.

  2. Combat stress by thinking about upcoming trips while I tackle the to-do-list. Actually, my holidays are pretty stress free since we stopped exchanging gifts many years ago, and just get together for visiting and dinner.

  3. I combat stress over the holidays by taking time off from work and spending time with my family. We travel a lot, but not over the winter holidays..

  4. Combat stress by checking the price of your upcoming hotel stay or car rental (or even flight) and rebook at the lower rate if necessary. The relief knowing that you checked for savings (or maybe found some) is a great mood lifter!

Over the last 2 months, I’ve actually seen my transcon holiday flight on Southwest drop 3 times to eventually be $100 less than original purchase. Now I have a credit I can use this summer.

  5. With all the hustle and bustle during the Holidays, I find the easiest way to combat stress is to simply carve out some alone time, whether in the tub with lots of bubbles and candles, or reading a good book in a quiet nook…perhaps baking some delicious cookies is your things. Whatever. Just make sure you have some YOU time!

  6. This is always a stressful time and when I can I save some of the things I usually need to do for example – get my hair done, a massage if I can afford it…just a little me time…..

  7. It’s tough! I have a lot of games on my phone to distract me from whatever is stressing me out, and weirdly enough, checking flight prices for places where I’d rather be is really nice for me.
