Honeymooners and holiday makers now have another great option in Maui – the new Residence Inn by Marriott.

Hawaii’s first Residence Inn, the Wailea property has a hot tub, Great Room, patio bar, fire pits, a swimming pool, Sport Court for basketball, fitness center, laundry center, grab & go 24/7 Market with snacks, and golf green. There is no resort fee, which is a huge plus in my book.

Stays can get expensive in Hawaii, and the Residence Inn offers an amenity worth its weight in gold for many – free breakfast buffet with hot items. The hotel has a free shuttle that takes guests to attractions like the Maui Ocean Center and Pacific Whale Foundation.

The pet-friendly property features a Hawaiian theme. There are 200 studios, one bedroom and two bedroom units and each has fully equipped kitchens (complete with stove & dishwasher) as well as balconies. The property offers free wifi in common areas and rooms and free grocery delivery service too, so you can stock up for an extended stay. Views from the rooms are either of the mountainside or ocean, and the beach is .6 miles away.

The Residence Inn by Marriott Maui Wailea is a category 8 property, requiring 40,000 Marriott Rewards points for a free night. You can also use Cash & Points, redeeming 24,500 points and paying $145.

A running map of the surrounding area is available at the Under Armour mapmyfitness app for those wanting to explore the area.

I think the Residence Inn by Marriott Maui Wailea is a really great option for stays in the upscale Wailea area without breaking the piggy bank. Just the fact that there is no resort fee makes this an attractive choice, and add that to the free breakfast and other amenities and I’d expect this property to be very popular.
