Best Western has launched their winter promotion for 15% off stays between November 23, 2015 and February 7, 2016. Members will also get 500 bonus points per stay during the promotion period if they register first.

There is no limit to the number of bonus points that can be earned during this promotion.

The promotional 15% off rate is found by choosing the Limited Time Offer (OI) rate on Best Western’s website. It is not a requirement of the promotion to use the Limited Time Offer rates in order to receive the 500 bonus points. The 500 bonus points can be earned during the promotion period even if another qualifying rate is chosen.

After registering, I went to Best Western’s website to book a sample stay (since reservations needs to be made on bestwestern.com to receive the bonus points).

Choosing a random date of January 20, 2016 at a property in Coronado, CA the flexible rate of $190 was shown followed by the promotional rate of $161.50 (indicated as Limited Time Offer), and then the AAA rate of $171.

While the Limited Time Offer rate would charge a deposit immediately upon booking, it would still be cancelable and refundable until January 17, 3 days prior to arrival. The AAA booking would only require a credit card guarantee with no deposit, and would be cancelable and refundable until January 19, 1 day prior to arrival.

Both rates would qualify for the 500 bonus points.

Last year’s winter promotion offered 20% off, but the reservations were nonrefundable and non cancelable which was a huge drawback. This year’s promotion only offers 15% off, but reservations can be changed and cancelled until a few days prior to arrival since the rates are flexible. This makes this year’s promotion much, much better in my eyes.

  1. I stay a fair bit since they have a few decent promotions-usually after only one or two stays. Most of their properties are fairly new or updated.

  2. I haven’t stayed in a Best Western in decades. Thanks to bloggers like you I now live the high life with Diamond status with Hyatt LOL. I heard BW overseas like in Europe are of better quality than those stateside which resemble motels.

  3. We have stayed from time to time in a Best Western. I usually chose other hotels based on promos but sometimes in a small town they are the only option.

  4. I rarely stay at Best Western properties in the US, but I do stay at their international properties. Many of them are quite good and well-located.

  5. The best BEst Western property I have stayed was in Istanbul, Turkey. The room was small but convenient. However, the hotel itself was great. And the full free breakfast every morning was WOW! I’m talking about everything you could ask for breakfast was there. It was amazing! Plus it was across the street from the ocean. I would totally stay there again.

  6. I’ve stayed at some beautiful Best Western properties in Italy and Germany. I think I may need to take a look at their promos before my next trip!

  7. Whenever I travel both nationally and internationally, I always choose Best Western Hotels because of their high standards and I know I won’t be disappointed. I get really excited when they have promotions because I’m eager to use them and love getting gift cards with two consecutive stays. Can’t wait for their next promotion!

  8. It’s unbelievable how nice some of their international properties are. I’ve recently stayed at Best Westerns in Athens and Istanbul and was blown away at the beautiful historic buildings they occupy, and the amazing breakfast spreads.

  9. I do like Best Western, but have points with other chains due to credit card promos so I have not stayed with them much this year or next year.

  10. booked for my husband in their maryland property. He really liked the breakfast spread. budget friendly and would go their again.
