The Hawaiian islands are among my favorite places to visit. Discounts at the gorgeous (but pricey) Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at historic Ka’upulehu are few and far between, so I’ve been keeping my eyes on the JW Marriott Ihilani which is due to reopen as the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina in mid-2016 after a $500 million overhaul.

The JW property had 387 guest rooms that are being turned into a roomier offering of 358 guest rooms at the Four Seasons Oahu, 52 of which are suites (some are two-bedroom). Here’s a screengrab from their website of one of the guest rooms –

There’s also a Presidential Suite. Although pictures are a bit scarce so far, the Mack Daddy of suites has three ocean view bedrooms spread over 3840 square feet with private access to the rooftop Sky Terrace and Lounge.

With 6 mouthwatering dining options, a six-story spa and myriad of pools and white sand beaches, the Four Seasons Oahu already looks like a great place to stay. They’ve just started taking reservations this week for stays starting June 1, 2016 and they’re kicking it off with some special promotions.

Choosing a random weekdate of June 15, 2016 the regular room rate for an Aloha room (lowest room category) came back at $475.

However, their “Book Early & Save” promotion offers 15% off reservations made by December 31, 2015. That dropped the rate down to $404.

Here’s a handy booking link for the Book Early & Save promo.

There’s also another promotion being offered where you pay for 3 nights and get the 4th free.

Selecting the dates of June 15-19, 2016 the Aloha room was not available so the price went up as it shifted the reservation up a category into a Mountain View Room which went for $525 a night.

Choosing the dates of June 6-10, 2016 instead, the Aloha room type was available and this time at the best available rate of $475 x 3 nights = $1425 which is even about $200 less than the 15% off promo.

Note that cancellations can be done without penalty for regular rooms as long as they are cancelled 21 days prior to the arrival date, for suites the cancellation must be 30 days prior to avoid penalties, and for specialty suites like the 2 bedroom and Presidential, 90 days are required. This goes for all reservations at the resort, not just those booked using a promotion.

I like these promotions because they offer an opportunity to save at a property that probably won’t have many discounts once they’re open and in full swing, if Four Seasons O’ahu turns out to be as popular as their other Hawaiian resorts.
