Not everyone wants to stay at a hotel chain property, and not everyone wants to chase hotel status. Airbnb has increasingly become a popular way to enjoy upscale accommodations, and now American Express and Airbnb have teamed up to provide a new option for Card members.

U.S. Card holder can now redeem Membership Rewards points for Airbnb eGift cards. The eGift cards are available in denominations of $100 and $250 for 10,000 and 25,000 Membership Rewards points, respectively.

Andrea La Mesa, Regional Director for North America at Airbnb said, “Airbnb is about creating your own special travel experience, while allowing you to feel a sense of belonging wherever you go around the world. Through the Membership Rewards program, we’re excited that Card Members can now use points for Airbnb eGift cards that they can use to rent unique places to stay from local hosts in more than 34,000 cities and 190 countries.”

I logged in to my Membership Rewards account and navigated to the catalog to find the Airbnb eGiftcards.
