A few years ago I had the good fortune to attend a special SPG Moments concert by the Goo Goo Dolls. Rather than standing in a crowded arena, after entering the hotel’s lobby I was offered wine, and there was a fun photo booth opportunity while waiters passed hors d’oeuvres. After meeting some friends, I then was guided through a red velvet rope to my cushioned seat just behind a few couches.

Refreshments and snacks were served again, and once the lights were dimmed I realized what an exciting way this was to experience a concert. Being in the second row, it was like watching a private performance. The artists seemed to enjoy the intimate venue almost as much as the attendees. After the concert, I was given a swag bag including a CD, photo booklet, mints, and a brochure about the band.

SPG has just released a new series of music events that will be put on at Starwood properties around the world. Called the “Hear the Music, See the World”, SPG has teamed up with Live Nation for nine concerts in 2014.
