Hyatt is rounding out the 2017 year with a promotion.

Called “Double Points for Being You“, World of Hyatt members can earn double points on stays worldwide between November 15 and December 31, 2017.

The promotion offers double base points, so instead of earning 5 World of Hyatt base points per dollar spent (before any elite points on top of that) you’d earn 10 points per dollar spent.

You need to register for the promotion between today (November 15) and November 30, 2017 even though the stays count through the end of the year.

M life eligible nights do count towards this offer as well.

All eligible Hyatt stays quality, which means that stays must be booked on Hyatt.com or via their World of Hyatt app, so no third-party bookings such as Expedia count (which is typical for these types of promotions).

Note that if you have several reservations, for example if you are traveling with family and have three rooms booked, only one of the rooms (the one with the Hyatt member) will receive the double points. You must choose points for each stay (and have registered for the promo), in order to receive the double points.

The bonus points will be posted two to three weeks after qualifying stays.

Even though this won’t change my travel pattern, double points is a nice bonus for the stays I already have planned for November and December. There haven’t been any Hyatt promotions since Springtime this year so I’m glad to see one more slipped in before the end of the year.

The window to register for this promotion is fairly slim, so even if you don’t have any Hyatt stays planned for the rest of the year I’d advise registering now anyhow. That way if you end up at a Hyatt hotel sometime in mid-December you don’t miss out on getting double points!

  1. The problem with this promo (at least for me) is that you have the book the Dbl point promo rate. not the “normal” rate.
For my upcoming stay my rate would be $34 more than the standard rate. To get those extra points I’d end up paying .03 a point. No thanks.
