Newlyweds Arsalaan Sever and Huma Mobin had planned out a romantic 10-day honeymoon in Greece but husband Arsalaan wasn’t able to get his Visa in time.

Rather than forgo the nonrefundable trip, the heart-wrenching decision was made for bride Huma to go on the trip with a slight twist. Her in-laws would accompany her instead of her husband. Understandably, she didn’t want to go without her husband and reportedly cried the whole first night of the trip.

Rather than gleeful photos, she posed in a pout with her arm outstretched as though resting on her imaginary husband’s shoulder, and posted on social media throughout her journey, using hashtags like #honeymoonwithouthusband, #missinghim, and #mobsterwithouthubster.

The pose became her trademark, and as she followed along on the original route of what was supposed to be a romantic trip she showed the world how much she missed her husband. Stopping in all the places she would have stopped to take photos with her new sweetheart, the stunning background scenery and photos are all clearly just missing one thing  – husband Arsalaan Sever.

The fun photos were spotted by media outlets and stories about the ‘Worst Honeymoon Ever’ spread quickly.

IHG Rewards Club heard about the trip and gave the couple one million IHG Rewards Club points so they could enjoy the honeymoon together they didn’t get to have.

The ecstatic couple redeemed the points for flights and hotels, and the new itinerary includes stays at the InterContinental Lisbon, InterContinental Paris – Le Grand, Holiday Inn Express Barcelona – City 22@, and Holiday Inn Rome – Aurelia.

No word on what photos the couple will share this time, but I bet they’ll make sure to get their visas processed well in advance of the trip.

Congratulations to the couple, and what a neat story (and photos) they’ll be able to share with their children!
