RockStar Hotels has just launched with 40 properties across seven countries in Europe.

The brainchild of CEO Robert Santucci who is a veteran of both Starwood and Marriott, RockStar Hotels wants to set itself apart from big chains.

RockStar properties are on the smaller side and claim to be more authentic to the locale. To ensure that guests feel like Rock Stars, executives visit the hotels every 3 months to keep the individual property standards in line with their vision. Hotels can apply to become members right on the RockStar Hotel website.

I haven’t delved into the site too deep to look at all the properties yet, but at first glance there are some really good looking hotels in prime locations. One of the properties is the prestigious Hotel Alfonso XIII in Seville, Spain (which also happens to be a Starwood Luxury Collection property. Rates look to be in the mid-$300’s, but other properties in the portfolio are in the low $100’s.

No word on a loyalty program yet, but with a CEO that has had previous Starwood experience and understands a guest’s looking to feel valued, RockStar hotels is one I’ll be watching.
