Leading Hotels of the World has a loyalty program called Leaders Club, which unlike most hotel loyalty programs is not points based.

There are two levels of instant membership, with are typically “achieved” by way of a fee.

The basic Leaders Club membership is $150 a year, and the Unlimited membership is $1,200 a year.

I generally find Leading Hotel properties to be quite nice but a bit on the expensive side, so for me the Leaders Club membership makes sense at the $150 level. A big attraction is the simplicity of the program, and members get a free night at any Leading Hotel for every 5 stays.

Sometimes there are promos where you can earn double or triple stay credits, and there are often “stay two nights get the third free” and “stay 3 nights and get a $100 property credit” offers.

I made a Leading Hotels redemption at the Hotel de Russie in Rome where going rates were around 800 EUR for the date I chose, and I considered it to have been an excellent redemption value.

Leaders Club members also get free Wifi, a welcome amenity, daily continental breakfast. Early check-in, late checkout and room upgrades are based on availability.

Cost for a one-year membership is typically $150, but if you have a World or World Elite MasterCard you can get a free year one-year membership when you make your first Leading Hotels booking with your MasterCard. The benefit is via MasterCard’s Priceless Cities, the discount offers and experiences program available to MasterCard holders. The benefit is valid through December 31, 2017 and is only open to new Leaders Club members, so it cannot be used to extend a current membership.

Leaders Club is also offering a $150 hotel credit for bookings made by December 31, 2016 on stays of 3 nights or more at participating properties when you book and pay with your MasterCard. The credit cannot be used on the room rate but can be used for the spa, dining, or activities onsite.

Although the T&C state that the offer can not be combined with any other offer, this may not exclude the sign-up promotion. It appears that it may be possible to make one three-night booking at a participating Leading Hotels of the World property with your MasterCard (perhaps over the phone), and take advantage of the onsite credit simultaneously. You would then get both a free year of Leaders Club membership as well as a $150 credit. Even if you don’t get both at the same time, each one separately is a good deal.

Today is also Day 10 of the 12 Days of Giveaways.

Today’s contest is a special one
, sponsored by Soul Insole, who is giving the gift of comfort. One lucky winner will receive a pair of shoe bubbles in their preferred size!

Road warriors, business travelers, and even people on holiday know that long days often lead to tired feet.

Here’s some information from Soul Insole about how you can get some relief.

Curious what a shoe bubble is?

A micro-size orthotic support that adds maximum comfort to any shoe. This amazingly small insole adds the perfect amount of arch support to prevent over-pronation and relieve pressure from the heel and forefoot. No squished feet! Have some relief and protection in your dress shoes, heels, flats, flip flops, running shoes and more! This new revolutionary design is durable, easy to clean and can move from shoe to shoe.

I haven’t tried these by Soul Insole myself yet, but they look pretty cool. As a dancer I have always valued keeping my feet happy, and I think that all feet can benefit from a little extra support. I like the way that these insoles are easily transferable between different shoe types. Especially during the holidays it seems like you have to wait in line for everything. Hotel check-ins, airplane boarding, etc.

To enter today’s contest, leave a comment about shoe insoles and feet, or Leaders Club (or both!). Do you have aching feet at the end of the day but figure it is just part of the job? Do you wear insoles already and love the extra bounce in your step? Or, do you already have a Leaders Club membership or are thinking of giving it a try since it is free?

Today’s contest ends at 9pm PT December 22, 2016.

Good luck to all!

  1. Thanks for this info on Leaders Club. I am not familiar with it, so will have to check it out. Your redemption sounds like a sweet deal.

  2. I would love to win the shoe insoles. I was an avid tennis player until I needed knee replacement surgery 3 years ago. I always still walk lots when I travel, so the insoles would probably help my aching feet. Fingers are crossed!

  3. I could use some new inserts for my workout shoes! As a former Leader’s Club member, I’d love to win to be reinstated!

  4. I put Dr. Scholls insoles in a few of shoes.Honestly I really don’t feel the difference. I probably need a better one. I never heard of the Leader Club..sounds interesting though. Something to look into.

  5. I need better insoles so bad. I have cheap ones from Target, and they’re OK, but when I have to travel for work and walk around a convention center with a polished concrete floor all day, I might as well be wearing nothing at all. I would LOVE to try these shoe bubbles.
