Back in 2014, Hilton moved to making redemption category changes quarterly rather than annually, which makes it tougher for people to save points up with a particular property in mind.

By the time the points are saved, the amount needed to redeem may increase unexpectedly. The new list is also simply posted on their website for people to peruse rather than communicating the changes via email.

In any case, View from the Wing has alerted us about this quarter’s list (and given me a good idea on how to set up an alert for next time).

Effective July 13, 2016, here is the list of Hilton properties moving down –

Hilton recommends using their Standard Room Rewards Search to see how many points a property will redeem at during specific dates. Note that the increases/decreases are for bookings made starting July 13, 2016 so for example if you make a booking in June for an arrival in August the new amounts won’t affect that.
