Earlier this year Holiday Inn Express introduced the pancake selfie, which was a big hit. Holiday Inn Express continues to focus on their Express Start breakfast bar, which is a smart thing seeing that breakfast offerings are an important factor for many travelers when choosing a hotel.

According to a 2015 Emoji Report, Holiday Inn Express found that 92% of consumers online use emojis, with some users believing that the special characters express their feelings better than words.

Holiday Inn Express has tapped into this trend by introducing a fun bonus to their breakfast lineup – the first ever emoji keyboard called BREAKFA-moji. With a previous lack of breakfast emojis, the powerful new set of emojis is available for both iOS and Android devices and it has 25 breakfast themed emoji characters. If you’re looking for a dancing strip of sizzling bacon, colorful cinnamon roll emoji or even a one-touch pancake machine emoji to match the one at the Holiday Inn Express Start breakfast bar, Holiday Inn Express has it in their BREAKFA-moji keyboard. Comedian/Actor and brand Creative Director Rob Riggle even combines different breakfast food emojis, like the “Paleonoyoudidn’t” combo.

Among other emojis, there was a cheerful jam-slathered piece of toast, a jolly honey jar, and of course the pancake selfie machine.

Emojis for breakfast? I honestly had no idea that emojis were such a popular thing, or that breakfast emoji choices were slim. These new ones certainly bring a little humor to breakfast though, and made me want some hot pancakes.

  1. I don’t use emoji and can’t see myself using these. Especially not before I have had at least 2, if not 3, cups of black coffee!
