The Royal Palm South Beach Miami is a property in the SPG Tribute Portfolio. Situated right on the beachfront, the Category 6 hotel’s location is outstanding. The rooms can be a bit small, but since you’re right on the beach you probably want to spend a lot of time outdoors anyhow.
Rates currently hover around the $200 mark for a night.
Groupon is offering a deal right now for a “secret” 4.5 star hotel in Miami. Though the hotel name isn’t revealed until purchase and you are never 100% positive which property it is, I’ve got a good hunch that this one is the Royal Palm South Beach Miami.
You want to know how? Groupon posted this picture on the deal page.
I recognized the little pillow almost immediately. Here’s a screengrab from Royal Palm’s website.
Look familiar? True, it could that another hotel uses the same pillows and has similar headboards. I checked valet parking rates, which are listed on both sites as being $42, and that there are two pools, confirmed by both sites as well. So, it’s a hunch, but a good one. I love puzzles like this and am pleased when I think I’ve figured them out.
The Groupon deal rates start at $129 on weekdays for a Deluxe King, $149 for two Double beds. Weekends are $169 for a King and $179 for two Double beds (two kids 12 & under stay in double rooms for free). Note that daily resort fee of $30 is not included, which covers bottled water in room, beach welcome basket, beach chairs and towels, 24-hour fitness center, local and toll-free calls, newspaper Monday–Friday. Dates are available through mid-November, and the rate includes a $50 dining credit per night which is where this deal really shines. Looking at the Royal Palm South Beach Florida Cookery restaurant menus there are some really food options.
Selecting the weeknight of Thursday August 13, 2015 the rate came to $129 for a Deluxe King Room.
On the SPG’s website directly there are no Deluxe King Rooms showing available, and the prepaid rate is $209 with best available at $219.
Trying a random weekend date of Saturday August 15, 2015 the Groupon rate for a partial view King room was $189.
The closest match on Starwood’s website was the superior partial ocean view which came in at a prepaid rate of $239 or best available rate of $249.
What makes this an especially great deal is the dining credit. $50 dining credit per night plus the discounted room night comes out to an extremely reasonable stay, plus there are plenty of available dates through mid-November rather than just a handful that you’re stuck to.
Note that once the booking is made, you cannot change the dates.
