DoubleTree by Hilton started giving out cookies to VIP hotel guests in the 1980’s. Today, all guests at over 415 DoubleTree properties are greeted at check-in with the offer of a free warm delicious chocolate chip walnut cookie. Tomorrow, May 15, 2015 during National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, DoubleTree is taking their sweet treats further and you don’t even need to be at a hotel to sample the yummy offering.

Anyone that walks into a DoubleTree by Hilton property tomorrow will get a free cookie, even without a reservation. Plus, DoubleTree by Hilton has teamed up with several transportation partners to give out tens of thousands of cookies at other locations like airports and car rental centers.

Here are some of this year’s fun activities according to the press release –

John Greenleaf, global head of DoubleTree by Hilton said, “At DoubleTree by Hilton, we believe that no matter where you are or what you are doing, cookies have the power to make you smile. It’s the reason we’ve welcomed guests with a warm chocolate chip cookie for more than 25 years.”

It’s called cookie CARE (create a rewarding experience). You can follow along with the cookie care fun by clicking here.

DoubleTree by Hilton is also running a contest where you can vote on a new cookie packaging sleeve design through May 21, 2015.

Can’t get enough of the gooey goodness? Here are some facts from the DoubleTree website –

There are more than 77,000 Doubletree by Hilton chocolate chip cookies given out each day. Although each chocolate chip cookie is baked fresh at over 415 DoubleTree by Hilton properties, only a few bakeries around the world know the secret recipe.

More than 1,250,000 chocolate chip cookies have been donated by DoubleTree by Hilton hotels to Firefighters, Police, Doctors, Nurses, etc. to thank them for their service.

Each cookie has on average 20 chocolate chips which totals over 950,000 pounds of chocolate chips used each year. There are over 28,000,000 cookies given out each year, with an estimated 300,000,000 total to date. That’s a lot of cookies!

  1. Who cares about the f**** cookies. Post your damn review of Ritz Carlton already. It has been 6 weeks already. Hallo!! Your review of the Ritz Carlton Bali has become an insult to your readers. 6 weeks after posting part 1 of your review of Ritz Carlton Bali you have yet to post the full review. Seriously? Your last post was on 29th of April, more than 3 weeks ago with your claim that “ part 4 coming soon”. Honestly, you should not be a blogger. If you don’t have the time to blog then don’t ask for readers on a forum like BoardingArea. Your earlier excuses to other commenters who have expressed frustration with you your slow reviews you said “life gets in the way of posting ”. Sorry but that is really a lame excuse 6 weeks later and honestly insulting to your readers. You should not be allowed to be on BoardingArea.com. Today I have unfollowed you on Twitter. If you want to be a blogger have some standards or otherwise just share with yoru friends or post your review on Tripadvisor. Never coming back to your blog again. Bye.
