A few months ago I stayed at the St Regis Venice San Clemente Palace which was just a short boat hop over to St Mark’s Square in Venice. Now JW Marriott has announced that they will be opening a resort on nearby Rose Island, which is also about 15 minutes away from St Mark’s Square by boat.
The JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa is due to open in March 2015, and is already accepting reservations.
Here’s a link to the website.
The property will have 266 rooms and suites, and some of them come with private pools.
Checking rates for a weekend in March, the lowest room type called the De Luxe went for 375 EUR while the cheapest room type including a private pool called the La Residenza Pool De Luxe was at 875 EUR. Breakfast was included in the rate.
Here’s a photo of the De Luxe room, from Marriott’s website –
There are also 2 bedroom pool villas that are on the website for a cool 4,000 EUR per night.
The resort is on 16 acres of land, including olive groves and fruit trees. There will be four restaurants and five bars onsite, along with something I think would be fun to try out – a cooking school and wine academy. Other weekly workshops onsite will be Venetian Mask and Murano Glass making.
The 5700 square foot spa will boast indoor and outdoor pools, a health club, hammam and luxury spa suite. The resort will also have a kid’s club and designated family pool.
The JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa will be a category 8 property, requiring 40,000 points for a free night.
