Starwood Preferred Guest recently opened Georgia’s first Aloft hotel, in Atlanta. They are offering a Grand Opening special of 1000 bonus Starwood points and free parking for all stays through July 31, 2014.

Here’s a booking link. Use promotional code LAPKG when booking.

Trying a sample date of Saturday July 19, the price came up as $159. The best available rate at this hotel for the same date is also $159, but without the extras.

I also found a 35% off sale for SPG members that included continental breakfast. The price was also $159. Since continental breakfast is $10 and self parking is $20, the Grand Opening offer is the better deal.

There are pre-paid options available for $134 on Starwood’s website and others. As I value Starpoints at around 2.5 cents per point, when you add the savings of parking plus the Starpoints, you come out ahead with the Grand Opening offer plus there is no penalty for cancellations until the day prior.
