Choice Privileges has just started a new promotion called “Two Stays Pays”, where two stays between May 22 and August 20, 2014 will earn you 8,000 Choice Privileges points, which is enough to redeem for a $50 gift card via a list of participating dining, shopping, and gas retailers. Unlimited points can be earned during the promotion. Also, Diamond and Platinum members receive an additional 250 bonus points when booking online at Choicehotels.com.

The promotion is a bit misleading. When I first read the email, I thought I’d actually earn a $50 gift card. In the small print, however, I found that this promotion is nearly identical to the one that just ended where two stays earned a free night. I wrote about that promotion here. Still, I like that this is a simple promotion. Two stays for 8,000 points is pretty straightforward.

Register before your first stay. Make sure your preference is set to earn Choice Privileges points in your account.

  1. I don’t know about the “misleading”, but I think having the option of gift card or keeping points is best, I just ordered an Amazon card. It’s probably the only time using points or miles for a gift card is a decent deal.

    1. Carl – I agree that redeeming points/miles for gift cards isn’t usually a good deal, glad you were able to get one. Re misleading, I saw the promo initially as stating that you’d receive a gift card automatically rather than points to redeem. It’s good to have the option of keeping the points or redeeming though.
